another test

We've all sat silent in our struggle and pain.

For some that season is but an instant - for others, years. Often turning inward, personal - we take the blame.

The moment finally comes where our strength to hold this crack together burst forth to expose the chasm that lay beneath.

Some clinch our fists tight, with tears in our eyes - we scream 'THIS IS ALL A MISTAKE!'. Then others, it is but a whisper of 'why couldn't this have ended before it even started?'

Job's experience was what we experience - that the pain might not even be about the situation or person or thing that caused it but a deep struggle within ourselves. The wonder of why we were created if only for the pain?

We damn the day we were born.
What we feared has come upon us; what we dreaded has happened to us.
We have no peace, no quietness;
We have no rest, but only turmoil.

This acknowledgement to ourselves, to God, to others - is the first step.
